These wings will captivate every guest. They will want to nibble on every bone. After all, thanks to the spicy and sweet sauce, the chicken acquires a completely new taste. Taste that is inherent in Asian cuisine. Therefore, if you are a lover of oriental dishes and you have 1 hour to cook, read our special recipe for Asian wings.

You will need:

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon ginger
  • 4 tablespoons of water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • cornstarch (2 tsp of sauce starch and 4 tablespoons of wing starch)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Wings preparation method:

  1. Rinse the chicken wings and dry them. If there is still water on the wings, they will not get a crust during baking.
  2. Sprinkle the wings well with starch to cover every piece of meat.
  3. Preheat oven to 180 ℃. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread out the wings so that there is space between each wing. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown.

Useful tips:

  • To evenly wrap each wing with starch, you can put the pieces in a plastic bag, pour the starch into it and shake it a little. This is both more economical and more efficient.
  • When baking, be sure to flip each piece to the other side so that a glazed crust forms all over the wing.

Method for preparing sauce:

  1. In a deep bowl, mix the ingredients: soy sauce, ginger, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and ketchup.
  2. In a separate glass, mix the starch with water. This will help dissolve the lumps well and make the sauce smooth.
  3. As soon as the starch is dissolved, pour it into the rest of the liquid. The sauce is ready.

Final stage:

  1. When your wings are well baked and you see that a golden-brown crust has formed, you can remove them from the oven.
  2. While they are cooling, heat a clean skillet and pour in the prepared sauce.
  3. We heat it until it boils. When you see bubbles appear, stir lightly and wait until the sauce is the consistency you want (it should not be thicker than liquid honey).
  4. Turn off the pan and put all the wings there. We try to carefully wrap each piece so as not to hurt the crisp.

Serve the wings while still hot to fully enjoy the Asian-style savory sweet sauce. The dish can be prepared as a stand-alone dinner item or paired with country-style potatoes or sweet potato fries.
